Tierra del Fuego National Park

Service Description

Tierra del Fuego National Park is located just 12 km from Ushuaia and is unique in Argentina for encompassing mountains, sea, and forests within the same reserve. The excursion begins by traveling west on National Route 3, crossing the Pipo River valley and the slopes of Mount Susana until reaching the Southern Fuegian Railway station. This area was, in the past, the workplace of inmates from the old Ushuaia prison. After a brief visit to the facilities, those who have booked the activity with the train ride included will board the historic train that travels part of the old prison railway line. The journey crosses bridges, peat bogs, and unique landscapes, with a stop at La Macarena waterfall to appreciate its surroundings. Later, we will enter Tierra del Fuego National Park, passing through the area where the Lombardich sawmill operated, until reaching the Park Station, where the guide and driver will meet us. The tour continues within the Park with stops at the main natural attractions. These include Zaratiegui Cove—site of the "End of the World Post Office"—, Lake Roca—surrounded by mountains and forests—, and the iconic Lapataia Bay, the endpoint of National Route 3 and the legendary Pan-American Highway. At each site, we will take short walks to observe the characteristic flora and fauna of this reserve, considered the southernmost National Park in Argentina. An experience that combines history, nature, and unforgettable landscapes at the southern tip of the continent. Entrance to Tierra del Fuego National Park is not included.
